    Business Problem

    The MNC worked with ORMAE to develop a solution

    • That selected the best carrier bids to minimize transportation across Europe.

    Our Approach

    ORMAE approached the the requirement (minimizing total transportation costs) by using MIP (Mixed Integer Programming). The other aspects of the solution included:

    • Collating and filtering an optimal mix of bids offered by the carriers.
    • Accounts for bundled deals offered by carriers.
    • Restrictions such as dealing with more than a certain number of carriers.
    • Restrictions on dealing with carriers below certain rating.
    • Provision of multiple “what-if” scenario comparisons to select the ideal combination and take informed decisions.

    The Result

    ORMAE's solution delivered on the following fronts:

    • Saves time by providing multiple scenario comparisons (which were done manually earlier).
    • Enables maximum possible savings while evaluating bids.
    • Provides results in under five seconds.
