    Enhancing quality prediction of Aluminium billets using Azure ML.

    About the customer

    An Aluminium processing unit that melts raw Aluminium ore into billets of various sizes. The ore goes through several operational stages that lead up to the formation of billets of varying strength, density, and quality.

    Business Problem

    To prepare a scheduling plan for streamlining the production process of coffee adhering to business constraints and reducing setup or change over time.

    Our Approach

    • Created production process efficiency by strategically sequencing orders along the production line, allowing a higher volume of orders within the same time frame.
    • Formulated a MILP model and solved it using GUROBI (optimization solver).
    • Considered the business constraints like shelf life of coffee, manufacturing constraints on types of processing machines, setup time etc.
    • Created a visualization depicting production schedule.

    The Result

    • Created a Gantt chart that provided visualization for the production schedule of coffee grinding and packaging.
    • Output is analyzed using flat files like excel.
